The Museum of the Ukrainian Diaspora (opened on May 29, 1999) showcases the history and artistic heritage of Ukrainians worldwide: from the first settlers of the late 19th century to the third wave of emigrants who left their homeland during World War II, as well as their descendants.
The exhibition focuses on key episodes of emigration from Ukraine, the lives of individual diaspora members, notable examples of Ukrainians' creative heritage worldwide, and the activities of various Ukrainian institutions abroad. Among the historical rarities on display are personal belongings of Hetman Pavlo and his son Danylo Skoropadskyi, artifacts from DP camps, and documents of the last President of the UNR in exile, Mykola Plaviuk. The artistic heritage of Ukrainians worldwide is represented by works from the Krychevsky family, Liudmyla Morozova, Anatol Kolomyiiets, and the earliest audio recordings of the Ukrainian National Choir conducted by Oleksandr Koshyts.
