1946
KNUTE’s history dates back to 1946, when Kyiv branch of the All-Union Extra-mural Institute of Soviet Trade was founded.
1959
In accordance with the Decree of the Council of Ministers of USSR № 50 of 14.01.59 the branch was transferred to the subordination of Kharkiv Institute of Soviet Trade, and in the same year – to Donetsk Institute of Soviet Trade.
1966
According to the Decree of USSR Council of Ministers № 195 of 04.03.1966 Kyiv Institute of Trade and Economics was established.
1994
In accordance with the Decree of Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine № 542 of 29.08.1994 KITE was transformed into the Kyiv State University of Trade and Economics.
2000
According to the Presidential edict № 1059/2000 of 11.09.2000 for the considerable contribution to the development of higher education and science in Ukraine, state and international recognition the University was given the status of “National”.
