This mysterious area borders the legendary Lysa Hora (Bald Mountain), and its ominous name is well deserved. Lysa Hora is known for legends about missing people and bricked-up walls that are said to still conceal victims. This is supported by a preserved pagan shrine with a statue of Perun and modern witch altars used for offerings. But people remain silent about Chorna Hora — it is far more terrifying. Yet, its green slopes are still accessible through a web of narrow streets.
Chorna Hora is located at the very heart of the mystical triangle in Kyiv’s Pechersk district, formed by Lysa and Busova hills.
