We invite you to an exhibition project dedicated to the abstract painting of Petro Lebedynets, where color serves as the foundation of artistic expression. The exposition features nearly 30 monumental works that create a space of intense visual experience and complex color dynamics.
The exhibition occupies the second floor of the museum — the historic space of the former Fedir Tereshchenko gallery. These large-scale canvases form a unique, cohesive environment where color, rhythm, and composition define the structure of perception, generating an intense internal dynamism.
Petro Lebedynets’ practice is rooted in a consistent exploration of painting as a system of color relations. His transition to abstraction emerged from a departure from academic models in favor of a personal quest, where color acquires material tangibility and inner energy. "I wanted to literally sculpt color with my own hands," the artist notes.
A prominent figure in the contemporary art scene, Lebedynets has held over 30 solo exhibitions across Ukraine, Germany, the Czech Republic, and the USA. His works are held in museums, cultural centers, and private collections throughout Europe and America. The exhibition "Color. Petro Lebedynets" offers an opportunity to immerse yourself in the immediate experience of painting, where the intensity of hue, scale, and compositional integrity take center stage.
