Add to calendarHobbits, as anyone even slightly familiar with their customs knows, value three things above all else: good company, a delicious feast, and the opportunity to do nothing with pleasure. And is there any better occasion for this than the Harvest Festival — a time when pantries are full of apples and pumpkins, the air smells of freshly baked bread, and the residents of the Shire, weary of summer chores, finally allow themselves to dance a bit?
Just such a celebration is being organized by the La Rêverie Early Dance Studio — a dance picnic styled after the Hobbit tradition of celebrating the end of summer. On August 30th, when the harvest is ripening right in the Shire and even the most level-headed Hobbit cannot resist the temptation to step outside, we invite you to join our celebration in a picturesque spot in Kyiv that recreates the free spirit of the Shire.
Guests can expect traditional circle dances that could be danced in Hobbiton, Bywater, or even Dell — simple, cheerful, and accessible to anyone with a desire and attendance at the summer practices. For those who dance their fill, there will be places to rest — with snacks, conversations, and light games that hobbits love so much between treats. In a word — a little movement, a little laziness, a little company, as befits a true Shire celebration.
Guests, following an ancient custom, are asked to come in Hobbit costumes — walking barefoot is, of course, not mandatory, but bringing a good mood is an absolute must.
Come — because as they say in the Shire, the best party is the one with the most friends gathered.
