Date and time
Add to calendarThe Turov Gospel is a manuscript monument of medieval Ukrainian literacy, created in the mid-11th century within the Grand Prince's scriptorium of the Metropolitan Saint Sophia Cathedral. It serves as powerful evidence of the Kyiv book school during this period of the history of Rus-Ukraine. The original is preserved in the Wroblewski Library of the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences (F19-1). The book was prepared as part of the project "Returning Cultural Heritage to Ukraine," launched by the Horobets Publishing House in 2009. This project aims to make Ukrainian manuscript monuments held in foreign libraries and museums accessible to experts and anyone interested in history, paleography, artistic illumination, and the language of Ukrainian manuscripts.
The facsimile copy of the "11th-century Turov Gospel" was published at the end of 2025, marking the 12th edition of the "Returning Cultural Heritage to Ukraine" project.
