About event

On March 21 at 5:00 PM, PEN Ukraine together with the National Antarctic Scientific Center will host a discussion about Antarctica—its impressions, significance, and research.

The conversation will explore what Antarctica is really like, why it attracts scientists and artists, and why it is important for Ukraine to continue polar research even during wartime. The speakers will also discuss the history of Ukrainian expeditions and current research—from oceanographic studies aboard the vessel Noosphere to climate change and Antarctic ecosystems.

Participants: microbiologist Mariia Pavlovska and writer Markiian Prokhasko.
Moderator: Olesia Pavlyshyn.
