Add to calendarThe American tradition of parades and large-scale jazz festivals was shaped, among others, by university big bands, as jazz drive has always erupted with special enthusiasm among students.
On October 24, the Column Hall of the Philharmonic will recreate this atmosphere. Two leading youth orchestras of the capital will meet on one stage.
The Glier Academy Big Band, led by Dennis Adu, will bring to the stage a refined bebop school, precise wind balance, and a tight, well-rehearsed groove. Meanwhile, the "Sarabande" Big Band of the Music Academy, headed by Oleksandr Saratsky, will present a bold artistic vision where jazz naturally intersects with Ukrainian folk music and the academic tradition.
An evening of pure live energy, where youthful stage drive rests on the experience of two leading figures in Ukrainian jazz.
