IV Пермакультурна зустріч / Conference "Urban Permaculture"

We are glad to invite you to the annual gathering of Ukrainian permaculture community!

Permaculture (permanent culture + permanent agriculture) is the approach to problem solving, aimed at finding mutually beneficial solutions; design of the plots and social systems based on the principles of sustainable development, adopted from nature and wisdom of traditional cultures.

The main topic of our gathering will be urban permaculture. We will talk about reducing and recycling waste, creating safe, energy-saving, low-cost housing for people and preserving and creating habitats for the wildlife, efficient mechanisms for self-governance, establishment of direct economic and friendly ties between farmers and city dwellers, urban farming, environmental services and inclusive environments. In order to generate new knowledge and foster cooperation, our permaculture gatherings always have the main topic related to the main direction of our organization's activities for the current year. However, we will not skip the strategic topics: ecological farming, solving the environmental and social crises, education and design consultancy. Traditionally, we organize a regional communication to help finding local partners, and by continuing the experience of last year's meeting, we will start a new tradition: presenting news and opportunities of the network of permaculture demonstration and educational centers. There will be also a program for children, interesting excursions, a shared table with ecologically grown food by participants and celebration of our achievements - come and contribute to creation of our diverse program! It will be useful, interesting and fun!

Last year's gathering demonstrated the importance of mutually beneficial communication between scientists and practitioners. Therefore, we continue this tradition and conduct an international research and practice conference according to the main topic. The conference will be held in English involving the international and remote speakers and participants (videoconference participation and broadcast).

At the permaculture convergence practitioners will share their experience in the form of presentations, discussions and workshops. The convergence will be held in Ukrainian with presentations by international guests delivered in English. If you do not understand Ukrainian - do not worry! A wisher translation of via radio guide will be provided. In parallel with the conference, interesting excursions for children and adults will be arranged as well as self-organized communication and celebration by participants.

So do not hesitate and come to both events! Especially that there we offer a single registration fee for participation in both conference and convergence which is only 13 EUR or and 14.5 USD after 20th of December 2018!). Come with the whole family - we offer free participation for children under 16 years old, and a discount for family members 2,5 EUR or 3 USD. We offer free participation for presenters and volunteers.
