NATIONAL TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY OF UKRAINE "IGOR SIKORSKY KYIV POLYTECHNIC INSTITUTE" 37 Peremogy avenue, Kyiv
"Japanese Autumn" Festival—immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the "Land of the Rising Sun."
For three days, Kyiv will be embraced by a true "Japanese Autumn"—a festival that will introduce you to the unique culture and traditions of this eastern country.
This year's "Japanese Autumn" festival marks the 20th anniversary of the Ukrainian-Japanese Center, which is why even more interesting experiences, treats, encounters, and discoveries await you.
Visit Ukraine's first exhibition dedicated to the aid provided by Japan to Ukraine, titled "Thank You, Japan," as well as Ukraine's first exhibition about sumo, "Sumo: Rikishi. Strength and Spirit."
Join various master classes, including the art of ikebana flower arrangement by the Eastern European branch of the Ikenobo school, a workshop on the Japanese language and arts, or traditional Japanese cooking. The Urasenke Japanese tea group "Tea Room" has prepared a special event—this year, 200 guests will be able to enjoy a cup of matcha tea and traditional Japanese sweets.
In addition, we invite you to visit the photo exhibition "About Hot Springs. The Path of Cleansing Body and Soul" (Mark Edward Harris), the photo exhibition "Landscapes of Japanese and Ukrainian Cities" (Yamagishi Ryoma), the traditional oshibana and temari exhibitions; a kimono exhibition and yukata-dressing master class by Oksana Piskunova; shakuhachi flute concerts by masters Un ryo and Roman Horobets; a buyo traditional dance performance by Angela Betelgeize; and demonstrations of traditional martial arts presented by masters and students of sumo, kendo, kyudo, aikido, and much more.
And that is not nearly all! A rakugo theatrical performance, haiku writing lessons, a manga drawing master class, calligraphy writing, origami folding, as well as a food court and market!
