What to do in Kyiv on the weekend of November 28–30: concerts, festivals, markets, and exhibitions
facebook.com/kadnayofficial

In Kyiv on November 28–30, a number of cultural and charitable events will take place — concerts, festivals, markets, and exhibitions. The city will be filled with indie pop and orchestral rock, presentations of new songs and large-scale charity fundraisers, while museums and galleries will open projects that reflect today’s experiences. This weekend can be spent in different ways: supporting good initiatives, immersing yourself in Ukrainian culture, choosing gifts for the holidays, or attending an atmospheric concert.

We have gathered the main events worth paying attention to.

Arsen Mirzoyan Concert

Arsen Mirzoyan will perform in the intimate atmosphere of Osocor Residence with a program combining his most famous songs and works written during the full-scale war. His music is always built on honest stories and direct emotional messages — without pathos or excessive embellishment.

During the concert, songs such as “Kiss”, “Irpin Waltz”, “Streets”, “Your Day”, “11/11” and other compositions will be performed, in which the artist speaks about experiences familiar to every Ukrainian.

Admission: from 700 UAH

“Kryhitka” Band Concert

On November 28, the band “Kryhitka” — one of the key indie pop rock groups on the Ukrainian scene — will perform at Origin Stage. The concert will be the first chance to hear live a new song that grew out of a viral tweet by frontwoman Sasha Koltsova: “My Christmas wishlist consists of the names of Ukrainian cities.”

After returning with the album “Megalyubov”, the band continues to update its sound and prepare special live shows. For the Kyiv performance, “Kryhitka” has prepared an expanded program, and the special guest of the evening will be Horror Choir.

The concert will traditionally include a charitable component: an auction with themed lots will take place during the event.

Kalita at the Honchar Museum

The Ivan Honchar Museum will host traditional Kalita evening festivities — an ancient ritual holiday that symbolizes the beginning of a new life cycle. Once, on this very night, young people would tell fortunes, joke, and look for a partner, and mischief was considered an essential part of the event.

Guests are invited to immerse themselves in the lively atmosphere of an authentic celebration: take wit challenges, try to “bite the Kalita”, jump the “Bunny”, tell fortunes, and dance. All participants become not only spectators but also creators of the event.

The musical accompaniment will be provided by the cappella “Zbyten”, which performs traditional instrumental melodies from various regions of Ukraine. The Kalita is baked together during the event, making the evening warm, lively, and genuine.

Exhibition “Kharkiv Residents. Askhat Safargalin. Petro Shygymaga”

As part of the “Dialogues” museum project, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Ukraine presents the exhibition “Kharkiv Residents. Askhat Safargalin. Petro Shygymaga”. The exposition unites two representatives of the Kharkiv school of painting, whose works resonate with each other through bright lyricism and attentiveness to detail.

Askhat Safargalin’s works are distinguished by a warm sense of space: his landscapes are filled with light and air, while his genre scenes convey gentle psychological depth. Petro Shygymaga’s paintings are intimate and balanced, expressing harmony through contemplation of nature and the subtle melody of form.

About eighty works from the collection are presented in the museum halls, creating an atmosphere of calm and inner balance, emphasizing the poetic and humane perspective of both artists.
