7 Free Psychological Support Centers for Ukrainians

During the full-scale war with Russia, the level of stress and anxiety among every Ukrainian is extremely high. In this article, we will explore 7 verified free support centers where you can maintain your psychological well-being.

Zaporuka Fund Hotline

To help Ukrainians cope, the Zaporuka Fund has opened a hotline for free psychological support.

The project team consists of 20 qualified psychologists who have direct experience working with crisis situations. Among the specialists are both women and men. If a person feels more comfortable communicating with, for example, a man, the hotline coordinator will take this into account.

Steadfastness Hub

The Steadfastness Hub is an initiative of the Society and BrainCult Foundation. About 20 platform professionals have been providing psychological support to Ukrainians since March 1, 2022.

From August 2022 to August 2023, over 2,500 users registered with the service, who had the opportunity to receive free consultations from volunteer psychologists. Communication with specialists takes place via video conference.

Social Project "RAZOM"

The "RAZOM" social project provides free online psychological assistance. They offer 3 consultations for 30 minutes each. During these consultations, recommendations and effective techniques for reducing anxiety are provided.

The project's goal is to make quality psychological assistance accessible to everyone, increase the level of psychological culture among the population, and improve the state of society as a whole.

The consultations are free, but they require active participation from the client, their readiness to answer questions, analyze the situation, follow recommendations, etc. In case of more profound issues, specialists refer people to a psychotherapist.

"ObiyMy" Psychological Support Center

ObiyMy is an initiative of volunteer psychologists to help people who have experienced stress due to hostilities and displacement.

Qualified assistance is available around the clock. The team includes over 500 volunteer psychologists from Ukraine and around the world.

Open Doors Center for Psychological Counseling and Trauma Therapy

The center employs specialists trained according to American standards. They provide support to anyone in need of psychological assistance.

Additionally, trauma-focused therapy is offered for servicemen, their families, and people whose lives have been affected by war or other traumatic events.

InNikos Therapy Center with Dogs

The first InNikos therapy center with dogs operates in Kyiv. It was opened with the support of the Royal Canin Foundation.

Regular interaction with specially trained dogs not only contributes to the increase in serotonin and dopamine levels but also reduces the level of cortisol - the stress hormone. It also stimulates the production of endorphins, which are natural antidepressants. In addition, canistherapy effectively combats nightmares, promotes social integration, reduces anxiety levels and manifestations of anger, and helps alleviate symptoms of PTSD.

The center provides support and assistance primarily to servicemen, their families, and Ukrainians affected by the war. Qualified psychologists and cynologists with at least five years of experience work at the facility, and the dogs meet all necessary criteria.

National Hotline

There is a hotline for psychological assistance to Ukrainians affected by the war.

The hotline operates daily from 10:00 to 20:00. Calls from Ukraine are toll-free. Consultations are provided by professional psychologists with many years of experience who have undergone special training to work with complex crisis situations. The hotline operates in two formats: audio and video communication. To receive a video session, the person seeking help must inform the hotline operator of their preference.
