Lumen, a speakeasy bar, opened at the end of 2024 inside the Squat 17b club space. The bar operates in a closed-door format: entry is only possible after ringing the doorbell, and there’s no exterior signage — a deliberate choice that ties into the bar’s symbol: a butterfly drawn to the light.
The name “Lumen”, which denotes a unit of luminous flux, was chosen with intent. The atmosphere is crafted through a mix of natural and artificial lighting, warm tones, and natural wood elements.
The cocktail menu was developed by mixologist Karina Popushyna. It features 9 original signature cocktails with carefully curated flavor combinations, as well as over 20 reinterpretations of classic drinks.
One of the new creations, Linda, is light and refreshing, with citrus notes of grapefruit, lime, and orange marmalade. Vanilla adds softness, and the overall profile serves as a playful answer to the phrase “Why so serious?”
In addition to cocktails, Lumen offers a selection of dishes with Vietnamese influences that pair harmoniously with the drink menu.
