About event

Halyna Dyhas is a contemporary Ukrainian artist and an active participant in both Maidans. Born in Lviv, she graduated from the Lviv National Academy of Arts, studying under prominent masters such as K. Zvirynskyi, V. Ovsiichuk, and L. Krypyakevych.

She began her artistic career in Kyiv at a textile art factory and an art workshop specializing in tapestries. She also taught ceramics at a specialized school for visually impaired children. She is a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine and the National Union of Masters of Folk Art.

Her work spans various techniques and genres of decorative art, including weaving, fabric painting, and glass icon painting. She also explores painting and spatial compositions.

The central themes of her work include a deep dive into the spiritual roots of the Ukrainian people, the exploration of Christian sacred culture, and the interpretation of ancient symbolism. Her art also addresses the tragic pages of history, such as the Holodomor and the Russo-Ukrainian war of 2014–2025.

Halyna has participated in numerous national and international exhibitions and plein-air workshops and has held 12 solo exhibitions.
