Add to calendarOn July 18, we invite you to the National Museum of Folk Architecture and Life of Ukraine for the Ukrainian Bread Festival — an event dedicated to agricultural culture, labor on the land, and the age-old wisdom of the Ukrainian people.
A special highlight of the celebration will be authentic zhynky (harvest commencement) and obzhynky (harvest completion) rituals performed by folk groups from the Vinnytsia, Cherkasy, and Chernihiv regions.
Visitors will be able to see how our ancestors solemnly began the harvest, offering prayers and wishes for a bountiful yield, and how they celebrated the end of their hard work in the fields, thanking the earth for its gifts.
You can look forward to folk songs, ritual performances, live interaction with tradition-bearers, and the atmosphere of a Ukrainian summer amidst the picturesque landscapes of the open-air museum.
