Book Presentation: "Shevchenko’s Garden. Family Trees of Moryntsi and Kyrylivka"

In honor of Shevchenko Days, we invite you to the presentation of the book: "Shevchenko’s Garden. Family Trees of Moryntsi and Kyrylivka."

This landmark publication, spanning over 500 pages, is dedicated to the genealogy of Taras Shevchenko and those who surrounded him. Based on preserved historical documents, the book uncovers hidden history and restores long-lost family ties.

Co-authors: Yevhen Matviienko, Yevhen Buket, and Oleksii Diedush.

Highlights of the presentation:

• The personal experience of discovering one's own connection to the Shevchenko lineage through archival sources.

• The true history of Taras Shevchenko’s grandfathers and great-grandfathers.

• How much — a little or a lot — it actually cost his friends to secure the Kobzar's freedom.

• The authors will also share their latest genealogical discoveries made after the book was published.
