Interactive event "Ladies in Science"

Do you know why the UN Resolution designated February 11th as a separate date, ensuring it wouldn't be "dissolved" into the March 8th celebrations? It is a day of professional strength, intellect, and scientific breakthroughs. Its establishment emphasized that the involvement of women in science is a vital prerequisite for global technical and economic development.

This year, the National Museum of the History of Ukraine will host its first-ever interactive event, "LADIES IN SCIENCE," dedicated to the International Day of Women and Girls in Science.

During the event, we invite you to view the museum’s exhibition from a different perspective and find answers to questions that usually remain beyond the pages of history textbooks. A special route will guide visitors from ancient beliefs to the era of high technology. However, this time the focus will not be on the artifacts themselves, but on the remarkable individuals whose scientific work stands behind these discoveries. You will learn about Ukrainian women who, alongside the world’s leading scientists, built the foundation for our present in the fields of archaeology, history, medicine, education, journalism, as well as social, political, and cultural life.

The second part of the event is a quiz, where participants will need more than just general knowledge—they will need a keen eye for the details noticed during the museum tour. This is an opportunity to see science as a sphere of great professional achievement.
