Urban beautification is an extremely important part of any urban form. Green plantations provide oxygen, strengthen the soil, create a shadow and decorate the streets and squares of cities. Nowadays Ukrainian concept of planting greenery is more lean toward decoration and spectacular, neglecting practicality and sometimes reasonably.
The participants of the initiative DE NE DE present the art project in which contemporary Ukrainian artists and civic activists contemplate the past and modern urban jesting. Artists collect the photos of plant deforestation by communal services: trimming or cutting down trees, digging or asphalting of lawns etc. Also, we appeal to users of social networks with a request to take photos to publish photos with hashtag #дезеленізація.
These photos will become a part of the exhibition #ДЕЗЕЛЕНІЗАЦІЯ in the BURSA Gallery from January 17 till February 14 2019.
