This weekend, Kyiv is celebrating Independence Day and offers a rich program for everyone: large concerts by Wellboy, Dorofeeva, and the band KARNA, a photo exhibition on Mykhailivska Square, the charity festival "Dva Kolory," and the massive Brave! Factory Festival at the Dovzhenko Film Studio.
Besides music, don’t miss the “Independent Market” featuring 180 Ukrainian brands or discover over 100 wines from different regions of Ukraine. For those seeking humor, this weekend will feature a taping of the show “Viktoryna” and the evening event “Stand-Up Na Tryokh.”
Wellboy will perform a large solo concert with a program combining well-known hits and new tracks. The performance will include "Husy," "Vyshni," "Dodomu," and the live debut of the song "Ayahuaska."
The artist, known for his unique style blending humor and sincerity, will present a vibrant show, set to be one of the most notable events of August.

On August 22, Dorofeeva will perform at Osocor Residence. This will be a summer open-air concert featuring her biggest hits and a few new songs.
The singer’s previous performance at this venue drew a full crowd and turned into a shared show in the rain. This time, the team is preparing a new program and live sound to once again unite the audience under the open sky.

On August 19–21, Mykhailivska Square in Kyiv will host the photo exhibition “Days of Remembrance of the Heroes of the Ilovaisk Battle 2014.” It features around 50 photos taken during the battle for Ilovaisk in August 2014 — from the start of the operation on August 10 to the events of the “green corridor” on August 29.
The authors of the works are renowned Ukrainian photographers Max Levin, Maksym Dondyuk, Oleksandr Hliadelov, and Markiyan Liseyko, who managed to document the course of events and bring photo evidence from the battlefield. A separate part of the exhibition honors the memory of Max Levin, who was killed in 2022 while documenting Russian war crimes in the Kyiv region.

Photo exhibition "Days of Remembrance of the Heroes of the Battle of Ilovaisk 2014"
On August 23–24, the “Independent Market” will take place on the terrace of "Vsi. Svoi." The event is dedicated to Independence Day and will feature over 180 Ukrainian brands.
The market will offer clothing, shoes, accessories, home goods, decor, and craft products. The assortment also includes patriotic apparel, ceramics, wooden items, textiles, and themed accessories.

On August 23, at 31 Nyzhniourkivska Street, the “Dva Kolory” festival will take place, dedicated to National Flag Day. The event will feature two stages — the instrumental “Hop!” and the electronic “Tyts!”
Performing on the “Hop!” stage will be bands Leleka & Paporot, HLIBOROB, “Prokliatyi Khuy,” “Mertvyi Piven,” and “Viy.” The “Tyts!” stage will feature an electronic program, with details to be announced. Between musical performances, there will be theatrical interpretations of Ukrainian poetry and prose.
The event will also include a vegan food court by "Karma." All proceeds from the festival will be directed to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine through the Musicians Defend Ukraine fund.

On August 23–24, WINETIME will host the “Ukrainian Wine Festival.” Over two days, guests will be able to taste products from 15 wineries from various regions of Ukraine.
The program includes over 100 wines, from classic varietals to signature blends, as well as more than 40 varieties of craft distillates and liqueurs.

On August 23–24, the Dovzhenko Film Studio will host the Brave! Factory Festival 2025. This year, the event takes place on Independence Day and will bring together over 50 performers, including 15 international guests.
The lineup includes legends of the British electronic scene Paranoid London, Uruguayan DJs Koolt and Michelle, a showcase from the Giegling label, and Ukrainian performers with live concerts: The Maneken with orchestra, SI Process, Misha Pravylnyi, and others.
In addition to music, the program includes the premiere of an audiovisual show, dance and theatrical performances, a large food court with over 30 vendors, 16 bars, and special relaxation zones.

On August 24, the band KARNA will perform an open-air concert at the “V’YAVA” venue to celebrate Independence Day. The group from Ivano-Frankivsk is known for its “Hutsul-metal” style, which combines Carpathian folklore and heavy rock sound.
The concert program will feature the band’s most popular songs, including “Synevyr,” “Mama Halychyna,” a cover of “Dvoie,” and tracks from their latest album “Hutsulization” (2024).
KARNA’s frontman Oleksii Yarosh has been serving in the Defense Forces since 2022 and is now returning to the stage. The concert will serve as a powerful reminder of the strength and resilience of Ukrainian music.

On August 24, a special holiday taping of the “Viktoryna” show by the “Veterans of the Space Forces” team will take place at the NAU Center for Culture and Arts. The event is dedicated to Ukraine’s Independence Day.
On stage, Venya and Kuran will host an intellectual-comedy battle with a celebrity duo of opponents. This will be a large-scale episode of the show, which usually runs in a more intimate setting and draws full houses.
Part of the proceeds will go to support the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

Veterans of the Space Forces. "Quiz" Show
“Stand-Up Na Tryokh” is an evening of live comedy where three comedians present new material and test it on the audience. Performing on stage will be Pasha Pinchuk, Andrii Berezhko, and Jeykhun Safarov — members of the Ukrainian stand-up scene known for their diverse styles, ranging from everyday observations to social satire. The evening’s host will be Bohdan Bohachenko.
