ICMCA takes on new meaning: GogolFest calls for a community cleanup on August 7–8

The International Center of Culture and Arts (ICMCA) is one of Ukraine's largest cultural hubs. Part of its spaces remained unused for a long time, and following one of the Russian shelling attacks, the building suffered additional damage.

Today, the ICMCA is gradually opening up to a new role—as a center for contemporary Ukrainian culture, art, and community. It is right here that GogolFest will take place from September 16 to 20.

The festival team, together with the initiatives "Brave to Rebuild" (@brave.to.rebuild) and Repair Together (@repair.together), invites everyone to join a joint cleanup (toloka) to prepare the ICMCA spaces for the festival. This is a chance to personally contribute to transforming a space that is once again becoming open to art, meetings, and new cultural processes.

The organizers will provide the necessary tools; it is advisable to bring your own gloves if possible. Important: there is a lot of glass from shattered windows and construction debris at the location, so participants should wear closed-toe shoes and clothes that cover their bodies.

  • August 7, 12:00–22:00
