New bike lanes, parks equipped with essential infrastructure, the first bicycle traffic lights, and a large number of parking areas and racks — Kyiv is becoming more and more comfortable for cyclists. We’re closely following these changes and decided to provide comprehensive answers to the two main questions: where to ride a bike in Kyiv, which cycling routes to choose, and which services offer bike rentals so you can easily find a two-wheeled friend at any moment.
The Exhibition Center (VDNH) and the nearby Holosiivskyi Park are excellent areas for quality sports walks in the fresh air and surrounded by picturesque nature.
At VDNH, nearly all territories are covered with new asphalt (a delight for road bike owners). In addition, these places feature paths for more challenging rides — trails on hills, slopes, and ridges.
Holosiivskyi Park is full of both well-paved paths and yet-untrodden tracks. This means the location will please both experienced cyclists and beginners. If you don't have your own bike — no problem: Kyiv’s bike rental is represented by several convenient services operating nearby, allowing you to quickly get a ride.
Location: Hlushkova Ave, 1 (VDNH), to the left of the main entrance, white Veliki.ua container.
Prices: rental costs range from 100 to 350 UAH per hour, full-day rental: from 450 to 1200 UAH

The large and naturally diverse Trukhaniv Island has always been a favorite summer destination for Kyiv residents. And in almost any season, it's a great place for cycling: forests, sandy paths, fields, lakes — everything you need for the soul, body, and a bit of adventure. Lately, it has become even more convenient — many asphalted bike paths have been added. So the old dirt trails can now be left for extreme riding. Moreover, if you’ve come without your own bike, there’s no problem — the island has a bike rental point, so anyone can join in on the active leisure.
As a bonus, during summer, after a good workout, you can relax on one of the beaches — they’ve now become quite civilized too.
Location: “Zenit” sports base (Trukhanivska St.)
Prices: rental costs 250 UAH per hour, full-day rental: 1000 UAH

The picturesque Muromets Park is located in the residential districts — between Troieshchyna and Pochaina. But it can offer cycling conditions no worse than in the city center. And there are serious advantages here: an excellent view of the beloved Dnipro River, spacious areas, and most importantly — a pump track, a specially equipped trail.
In September, as part of the implementation of the sports park concept, a new bike lane was also built here. It runs along the central “Alley of Memories.” The bike path is 600 meters long and is open to cyclists, as well as rollerbladers and skateboarders. Muromets Park is gradually becoming integrated into Kyiv’s overall network of cycling routes, so it can easily be included in any plan for two-wheeled active recreation.

Let’s move from parks and forests to the urban scene. Within Kyiv, one of the most well-known cycling routes is the “Troieshchyna Residential Area — City Center,” which was introduced in 2015. It consists of two one-way bike lanes, each adjacent to the sidewalk, running along both sides of the roadway on Roman Shukhevych Avenue.
The city authorities plan to connect this route with the new cycling infrastructure on Stepan Bandera Avenue. For now, the one-way lanes of the “Troieshchyna — Center” route have been extended.
