Assumption Cathedral Pereyaslav-Khmelnitsky

This magnificent five-domed shrine, the facades of which are decorated with elements of different styles inherent in the Romanesque, Gothic and Byzantine structures, is still the decoration of the square.
Visit the same place where history was made, feel the spirit of the Pereyaslav Rada and see the shrine - the heiress of the same cathedral, within the walls of which the Cossacks, led by Bohdan Khmelnitsky, took the oath of allegiance to the Moscow Tsar. The temple was wooden and built by Konstantin Ostrozhsky, but a year after those momentous events, the cathedral burned down.
The current brick building of the Assumption Cathedral with intricate ornaments was erected in 1896.
