In the 2015, a monument to Dante Alighieri appeared on Vladimir's Hill in Kyiv, not far from the intersection of the Trokhsviatitelska and Kostyolnaya streets. The sculpture of the prominent Italian poet, philosopher, theologian and politician Dante is made of white marble. At the feet of the poet – an eagle, a symbol of greatness, spiritual uplift.
The opening of the monument was timed to the 750th anniversary of the birth of Dante. The Dante sculpture is a manifestation of respect for the culture of Italy, a symbol of friendly relations between the two countries. In addition, the monument to the prominent Italian was opened in the framework of the project "Kyiv – the City of the World", which involves the creation of symbols of the culture of other countries in the Ukrainian capital.
