To mark the 35th anniversary of Ukraine's Independence, the museum presents the exhibition project "Ivan's Ark"—a spatial interpretation of Ivan Honchar's legendary home museum.
The private estate and workshop of artist, sculptor, and collector Ivan Honchar became a Ukrainian phenomenon of the second half of the 20th century, transforming into an unwavering center of cultural resistance during times of intense pressure from the totalitarian system.
We invite you to experience a space where tradition exists as a living system of values that inspires and unites. The exhibition will feature unique items from Ivan Honchar's collection—those that formed the foundation of the home museum and later became the greatest treasure of the state museum's collection.
The exhibition project will run for three months and will feature a dynamic component: seven thematic expositions changing every two weeks: "Space of Freedom," "Resistance. Creativity," "The Spirit of Mamay," "Truth and Injustice. History," "Dimensions of Being. Rushnyk," "From Generation to Generation Amulet. Plakhta," "House-Heavens. Icon." Each stage will reveal a separate layer of material heritage preserved by Ivan Honchar. Stay tuned for details in upcoming announcements.
