Date and time
Add to calendarThe Naked Room is hosting Maria Vasylenko's solo exhibition "A Place That Doesn’t Exist" (eng in comments).
The artist invites viewers to immerse themselves in her imagined world, where conventional space and time dissolve, revealing what lies hidden beyond appearances. Vasylenko processes her personal experiences by mythologizing them and transforming them into symbols, creating a space where her consciousness finds reflection and interacts with the surroundings.
Maria received an academic education in easel painting and iconography but has gradually moved away from traditional techniques. Her style combines color work and formal aspects of iconography, resulting in her current visual language. The artist uses egg tempera, which creates a transparent, almost ethereal effect, and applies reverse perspective, with the vanishing point placed close to the viewer.
