About event

"Anima" Exhibition by Julia Dunaeva: Where Ancient Roots Meet Modern Art.

Easter in Ukraine is a profound blend of Christian faith and folk traditions. During this season, we invite you to explore the works of Julia Dunaeva, a contemporary artist from Dnipro whose style is defined by archaic depth and folk symbolism.

Julia masters various techniques, including vytynanka (paper cutting), watercolor, ceramic painting, and textile collage. A highlight of her work is the "vyryvanka" — an ancient, scissor-free paper-tearing technique traditionally practiced during religious holidays when cutting was forbidden.

Key Highlights:

  • Theme: "Anima" (Latin for soul, breath of life).

  • Motifs: Old Testament scenes (Adam and Eve, angels) and mythical creatures from folk art.

  • Exhibits: Prints, original pieces, ceramic panels, and hand-torn paper art.

Charity Mission: Entry is free (pay what you wish). 30% of proceeds from original artworks and 100% from merchandise will be donated to the "Legit" Charity Foundation to provide ballistic protection for an artillery reconnaissance vehicle.
