Pablo Picasso was the father of Cubism and one of the most famous Spanish artists. Perhaps not everyone liked his work, but even his opponents respected him for his talent - and this is the highest form of a skill. Today he is called one of the most expensive artists of the past century. In our lecture, we will talk about the work and life of Picasso: the blue and pink periods, Cubism and approaches to abstract art. Also, we will tell you about how painting absorbs the traditions of different cultures and goes beyond the canvas.
We will find out:
• how Picasso managed to rework the Spanish heritage and remain a Spanish artist, having lived in France for almost 70 years;
• why Picasso is one of the most expensive artists of our time;
• his incredible love stories;
• what trace he left in the history of world painting;
• about Picasso’s friendship with Matisse.
