A stamp dedicated to Ukrainian sappers will be presented on Maidan

On March 19 at 11:00, a presentation and a ceremonial special cancellation of a new postage stamp dedicated to Ukrainian sappers will take place at Maidan Nezalezhnosti near the Main Post Office in Kyiv.

The event will be held as part of the project «Bringing Back to Life: Heroes of Demining», implemented with the support of the Croatian manufacturer of demining machines DOK-ING, as well as the Ministry of Economy, the State Emergency Service, and the State Special Transport Service.

The new stamp is dedicated to the heroes of demining — sappers who return Ukrainian land to life every day. At the center of the illustration is a sapper, and next to him is a demining machine with the symbolic name «Hope». It was this machine that last year withstood a direct hit from an enemy UAV. Thanks to remote control, none of the operators or sappers were injured.

The organizers invite Kyiv residents and visitors to join the event. During the event, everyone will be able not only to witness the special cancellation ceremony of the stamp but also, for the first time, to freely view a 20-ton demining machine of this model in person.

The event will be of interest both to city residents and to tourists who want to get a closer look at modern equipment that helps clear Ukrainian territories of mines and explosive hazards.
