About the place
The Kiev Museum of Russian Art was opened on November 12, 1922 and originally wore the name of the Kiev Picture Gallery. Having emerged in the difficult times of devastation and famine after the revolution of 1917 and the civil war, the museum in its development experienced all the stages of the formation, redevelopment, deprivation and losses that Ukraine passed during its existence within the Soviet Union.
